Day out with Pin ^-^

it's been a while since we hanged out so wuz reli happy to meet up with Pin on monday.

we arrived at klcc at about approx 4.45. i forgot bout lunch so wuz so so so hungry. 狼吞虎咽 and wolved down a plate of my fav Spaghetti Carbonara at the Signatures Food Court and Pin got herself a thick gooey protein drink.

Anyways i tot Pin's gooey juice wuz nice so i bought myself one and Pin got herself another fruit juice (which wuz kinda sour-ish but nice). As a result we were a bit late for our 5pm show and missed d beginning of d simpsons clip that starts off ''An Inconvenient Truth'. Oh well... mai pen rai ka...

note to pin: sorry! i noe u said wanna eat popcorn but i forgot liao...
>.<
My Review of 'An Inconvenient Truth'

"Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced. "

According to Al Gore, the planet's future seems bleak if we (the US especially) don't do something about global warming. So begins his one-man crusade to make everyone wake up to the harsh reality of global warming. He has many detractors me think, and in the documentary, they are potrayed (in my opinion) as stubborn, truth-bending old farts unable or unwilling to accept the truth.

So anyway since the world is going to go *kaboom* in 10 years or so, (and he has nothing better to do since he lost to Bush Jr, me thinks) Gore has made it his personal mission to save the world with his 'travelling global warming show'. Gore is charismatic, engaging and funny and quite effective so i hope the world is saved soon.
Anyways one of the things that made a lasting impression on me is the short clip of the poor lil polar bear... it seems like with the ice-caps and larsenB ice shelf melting and all, water levels are rising and polar bears have no place to land and for the first time in history, there are polar bear DROWNINGS! O_o such cute animals don't deserve to die!!! It's preposterous!!!
*pin says: so ke lian!!!*

Another thing is the fact that beijing and shanghai cud be totally submerged if sea levels keep on rising. I wuz absolutely horrified when i saw d images of my motherland under water. Okay, thailand, msia and spore wud be underwater too and i will be equally freaked out about that, but unfortunately this part of the world is not important enuff to be featured in the documentary. Some parts of Europe (either norway or netherlands) and some US states (NY, florida etc) will be flooded too but erm... i dun reali care. okay maybe i wud. if disneyland florida gets wrecked i'll be like sooo mad since i have not been there yet and wud like to go.
but after showing china and india submerged under water the documentary said something like 'imagine the effects of hundreds and thousands of refugees'... or something to that effect, which i think is stupid and uncalled for. U think we wanna go to ur stupid country isit, u hao lian ang mohs! okay maybe i'm overly sensitive, maybe i heard wrongly, maybe i'm agitated because of the absolutely annoying monophonic ringtone that kept on ringing in the cinema (i dunno y d owner saw no need to silence it or off his/her hp) or maybe i'm just sleepy (cuz it wuz a rainy day).

By d way, perhaps i am a sadist >.< *gasp* okay maybe not... but i love disaster movies. i love day after tomorrow and the sinking of japan etc etc so i especially like the footage of tornadoes and storms and stuff. I dun mean the footage of pple suffering or dying but scenes of tornadoes et al shown from above. It looks so pretty from above but it causes so much devastation. When u realize someone somewhere is suffering because of it. it is kinda sad. So we must all strive to cut down our CO2 emmisions and save the planet.
Anyways while watching this documentary, i started to suspect it is some kinda promotional material to boost Al Gore's popularity. Altho he said he doesn't wanna run for Pres anymore, who knows? Some parts i think quite melodramatic, like wanna menagih simpati from the american public. But this is juz my opinion lah... maybe he is reli great and selfless yadda yadda yadda
okay i crap too much. i'll end this now. last words... vote for Gore, save the planet and go visit the webbie.

*end of review*

after the movie, my mascara started to leak and i looked like a panda.
*proves i'm not made for make up*
so went to d WC to clean up d mess, went to crumpler then went to d concourse area since there is an F1 roadshow. I juz love this kinda stuff! can answer Qs and get prezzies!

Since Pin is an avid F1 fan i wuz confident we cud get a prize. So they asked some F1 related Qs (which i din noe d answer of cuz) but somehow the MC dun wanna pick Pin. Once he suspected Pin got the answer from a leng zhai malay boy (roadshow staff) standing behind us so he din pick Pin.

Anyways the last Q was F1 unrelated so i knew. He ask how many floors are there in the Twin Towers. Which is like 88 of cuz. So i wuz like happily rushing up the stage when suddenly, *plop* and a very loud OUCH!
okay. so i tripped on the stairs and fell on the stage. -_-"

茫茫人海中, i saw Pin's face, laughing... okay sorry Pin, not laughing... erm... like, half laugh, half 不知所措 like that. Pin ar... laughing is not 幸灾乐祸 lah... if someone falls on stage i wud laugh at them too! okay... i know u're not as evil as me.

anyways i got a prize. Hope it is good enuff to justify my public humiliation!

turns out it is a puma F1 t-shirt. which is great! and it looks cool too.......

except that it is a men's T and super huge (for me).
Sigh... (-.-) ~~~
